On May 21, 2022, the fine folks at Dreams Come True Railroad (DCTRR) in Cassatt, SC hosted a special Palmetto Division meeting. We were treated to some interesting clinics regarding the DCTRR, an excellent hot dog lunch, and we got to ride the trains! We had a good turnout, including quite a few guests from neighboring NMRA divisions. On the way home, John Kelchner opened his beautiful layout for us to enjoy. A great time was had by all!
Our division meet was held on
Northgate Baptist Church
Fellowship Hall (parking and entrance behind the church)
633 Summit Dr
Greenville SC 29609
doors opened at 8:30am, meeting started at 9am
We had two excellent clinics, and two great layout visits after the meeting.
The Palmetto Division took their T-TRAK-HO modular layout to the Model Train Show in Columbia, SC on March 27, 2021. The layout performed well with only some minor issues. The show was well attended and we brought smiles to some faces, especially with Thomas the Tank Engine. We had a number of visitors interested in the layout and the NMRA.
The Division has built several T-TRAK-HO modules We plan on setting up the T-TRAK-HO layout at the Easley show and we can use it at other events in the future. A number of T-TRAK-HO modules have been adopted by members of the Division. But there are still two straight modules that are orphans, plus there is one of the Division's corner modules available for someone to add scenery to it. Cost for adoption of the straight modules is $10 for a bare module with no track and $25 for a module with track and power wiring already installed.
Our Spring 2020 Division meet was held SATURDAY March 14, 2020 at Northgate Baptist Church - Fellowship Hall.
The attendance was off a bit (understandable due to CoronaVirus concerns), but by all reports it was a successful meeting. We had two great clinics (click links for presentations) and two great layout visits. Check out the great photos from the event.
On November 23 2019, Jack Varadi hosted a mini-clinic on his fantastic Greenville & Ohio RR, with 4 members participating, plus a few more helping.
